The School of Engineering and Technology is one of three specialized schools under Nha Trang University (NTU), officially launched and operational from February 1, 2026, based on the merger of the following specialized faculties: Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Transportation Engineering, and Faculty of Civil Engineering.

This is where highly skilled engineers are trained to meet the needs of industrialization and modernization, especially in the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam.

1. Formation and Significance
Establishment: The school was announced on February 1, 2026, during the announcement ceremony of the decision of the Nha Trang University Council.

Structure: This is a strategic step to transform the model from a "University" to a multidisciplinary "University" by 2030.
Objective: To focus deeply on core engineering fields, high technology, and supporting industries to meet the human resource needs of the South Central and Central Highlands regions.

2. Key Training Areas
The School of Engineering and Technology manages NTU's traditional and modern engineering training programs, including:

  • Mechanical Engineering & Manufacturing: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Thermal Engineering.
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering: Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering, Mechatronics.
  • Technology & Automation: Control and Automation, Information Technology, and new directions such as semiconductors.
  • Transportation & Construction Engineering: Shipbuilding Engineering, Transportation Construction Engineering.

3. Strengths and Facilities

Laboratory System: Inheriting over 50 specialized laboratories from predecessor departments (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering) such as the Mechanical Workshop, Mechatronics Practice Room, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Laboratory.
Business Cooperation: Closely linked with major corporations (Toyota, Hyundai, Thaco, Mitsubishi, etc.) to provide internships for students and ensure job placement upon graduation.
